The price of a Powerball ticket with Powerplay is $2. The shipping and handling is $1 on each ticket with a minimum of $7. The jackpot average for Mega Millions Lottery is $80 million. Each $1 ticket allows you to win the jackpot. You can purchase random numbers through Quick Pick on the board or select 5 numbers from 1 to 56 and a mega ball from 1 to 46. You can buy tickets for up to 8 consecutive draws.

How to Play Mega Millions

Each lottery ticket costs $1. You can buy these from us or from any lottery retailer who sells Mega Millions lottery tickets.

Tickets can be purchased randomly or you can pick your own numbers. Random numbers are generated by the lottery machine and thus you can buy any number of tickets just by requesting the lottery retailer.

To pick your own numbers, you should fill up the bet slip. Five tickets can be purchased per slip each for up to 8 draws. You are given the option to select "Cash" or "Annuity" on the bet slip. Annuity means that if you win the jackpot, the prize will be paid to you in 26 equal installments annually.

Mega Millions Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11.00pm. Five white balls are drawn from a pool of 52. One gold mega ball is drawn from a second pool of 52. Any one matching these six winning numbers wins the jackpot.

There are nine ways to win prizes ranging from $2 to jackpot. Overall odds of winning any prize is 1 in 40. Mega Millions jackpot is projected to average $80 million. With the addition of California, it has the potential to surpass $500 million.

Claim your Prize

If you win a prize, sign at the back of the Mega Millions ticket immediately. Then take it to any Lottery Retailer for validation. Small prizes are paid cash at the time of the claim. Bigger prizes require you to fill out a claim form and submit it to lottery headquarters. It takes approximately three weeks to receive a check.

The law requires the New Jersey Lottery to withhold a minimum 25% of all prize payments to any Lottery winner who has won more than $5,000. Winners who do not possess a social security number are subject to a 30% federal income tax deduction on any prize over $599.50.

Mega Millions Lottery Winners

A Michigan player has won the $205 million grand prize from the recent Mega Millions lotto drawing.

Besides the grand prize winner, 25 players matched all five numbers but not the Mega Ball number. They will receive second prizes of $250,000 each.

Another 137 players, matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball number, will receive third prizes of $10,000 each.

The winning numbers from Friday night's drawing were: 23, 25, 43, 46 and 49. The Mega Ball number was 26.
