8.1       Subject to the laws and regulations governing the Party Lottery which issues the ticket, a winning Official MEGA MILLIONS Ticket is deemed to be owned by the person or entity named on the ticket or, in the case of a ticket not completed with name (and address, if required), by the Claimant.

8.2       A Party Lottery shall not be responsible for lost or stolen Official MEGA MILLIONS Tickets.

8.3       The Purchaser of an Official MEGA MILLIONS Ticket has the sole responsibility for verifying the accuracy and condition of the data printed on the ticket at the time of purchase.

8.4       The Party Lotteries shall not be responsible to the Claimant for Official MEGA MILLIONS Tickets redeemed in error by a MEGA MILLIONS Agent, Sales Agent or Retailer.

8.5       Winners are determined by the numbers drawn and certified by the independent auditor responsible for auditing the MEGA MILLIONS draw.  The Party Lotteries shall not be responsible for MEGA MILLIONS Winning Numbers reported in error.
