There are lots of business plans floating around
looking for money these days. Many have merit, a few seem pretty compelling,
but few are so simple in their scope and so Olympian in their promise as to
erase all doubt from your jaded, tired mind in a single magic swipe. I've
got one for you today. If you like gambling (one of the top two online moneymakers), and you like gambling In China (where everyone gambles, and where there are plenty of everyones), and you like the idea of Online Lotteries In China With Government Approval (since lotteries are ridiculously profitable, and you will have to have the government in on this one anyway), why then, you'll just love … Wireless Chinese Lotteries. For those of you who thought there was no way to get lots of users onto data-enabled cell phones and handhelds, think again. Last week, using a system developed by Beijing's Newpalm (China) Information Technology, the Welfare Lottery Bureau of Heilongjiang began selling prepaid cards for use by mobile subscribers in this northeastern province. Cards run from $6 to $24 and allow users with a passcode to buy virtual lottery tickets by sending SMS (short message services) messages. The central server then sends a reply SMS containing a string of numbers, which may be valid for prizes up to $604,000. That's it. Operators, which currently include China Mobile Communications Corp. and China Unicom Group, charge a small fee for each lottery SMS sent. (C) inform such person that the failure to complete the transaction may be considered in a proceeding under section 3007 of this title to determine probable cause, in accordance with paragraph (2) of this subsection. |
