Johnson on Thursday afternoon forgot to bring her
list of numbers she plans to play for tonight's drawing, so she only bought
a few tickets at Harbors Market (formerly Titanic Market) on Hall Road in
Clinton Township.
"I'll come back tomorrow," she vowed. Dan Gowing, 55, of Macomb Township, bought three Mega Millions tickets at Harbors, tripling the unemployed man's normal purchase. "I have to watch my spending because I've been laid off for three months," he said. "I'll spend $1 per $100 million. Why not spend a couple of extra dollars?" If Gowing wins the jackpot, he said he will "take care of everyone in my family." "I've got a big family -- two ex-wives, six children and three grandchildren. I'd set them up in business or something like that." Jackie Loszewski, 23, of Macomb Township, purchased 10 chances along with a case of beer at Harbors. If she wins, "Everyone I know will be out of debt," she said. Sharon Johnson usually spends about $300 a week on lottery tickets, sometimes as much as $600. |
