When claiming a lottery prize, to ensure that you receive the correct payment, you should always be aware of the prize to which you are entitled. Occasionally, a Retailer may not have sufficient cash on hand to pay your prize. If you know the amount in advance, you can check with the Retailer before claiming the prize.

Finally, checking non-winning tickets may result in long line-ups, which would inconvenience all store patrons.
